These photos show how a 1992 Santana 2023A water ballasted sailboat was modified to provide additional support for the swing keel pin.
The modification was made after the previous owner replaced a failed aluminum pin with a stainless steel pin but used the same inadequate method of mounting the pin as originally designed by Schock.

Keel Pin Suspender Parts
All parts are stainless steel. They include two 1"x.500"x7.5" bars, four 5/16-18x12" threaded rods, two 2"x.125"x4.375" plates, and four 5/16-18 nuts with lockwashers. Two tapped holes in each bar accept the threaded rods which were then spot welded in place at the rod ends and ground smooth.
